Cryotherapy

Cryotherapy sessions are extremely beneficial for athletic recovery, pain management, beauty & wellness!

Whole Body Cryotherapy was originally designed as a treatment for Rheumatoid Arthritis and Inflammatory Joint Diseases. Proving extremely effective, Whole Body Cryotherapy quickly gained notoriety for that specific issue, but also as a means to treat systemic inflammation throughout the entire body, which is beneficial for athletic recovery, pain management, and beauty & wellness.

What is Whole Body Cryotherapy?

Our Whole Body Cryotherapy sessions expose the entire body to sub-zero temperatures for up to 3 minutes. As the body is exposed to these freezing temperatures, it enacts our natural fight or flight response that constricts blood vessels to restrict blood away from extremities. This redirection causes your body to move blood toward the core, protecting your organs.

During this process, the body increases its oxygen levels, certain proteins, and endorphins. When you exit the CryoCabin and return to normal room temperature, the oxygen-protein rich blood moves back through the body.

  • What is a Whole Body Cryotherapy Session like?

Not sure what to expect when you visit Vitality for Cryotherapy? After you complete our intake & medical waiver, you’ll head to one of our  private changing areas. Our CryoCabin uses sub-zero temperatures to deliver cold therapy, so you’ll need to protect certain parts of your body from the cold! We’ll provide you with socks, slippers and gloves to use during your Cryotherapy session and a robe for your comfort & privacy before and after your session.

Once you’re changed into your protective gear, you’ll head back to our CHILL treatment room with one of our Cryotherapy Technicians in tow. You'll enter the CryoCabin where you’ll CHILL for 2-3 minutes. Our highly-trained technician will stay with you the entire duration of your session- providing breathing techniques, tips, trick and entertainment to make your Cryotherapy Session safe, fun and enjoyable.

Not sure you can make it the full session? No worries! A healthy Cryotherapy practice may be something you work your way up to, gradually increasing the time you’re able to spend in the CryoCabin each visit.  In general, Cryotherapy is much more tolerable and enjoyable than an ice bath due to no moisture and other key factors.

After you get out, you’ll feel energized, alert, more joint mobility, less aches and pains, better mood- and may even experience better  sleep following your Cryotherapy Sessions.

  • How Does Whole Body Cryotherapy work?

One form of Cryotherapy we offer at Vitality CryoCare is Whole Body Cryotherapy

This treatment exposes the entire body to sub-zero temperatures (-190+ F)  inside of our state-of-the-art CryoCabin for up to 3 minutes.

As the body is exposed to these sub-zero temperatures, it enacts our natural fight or flight response that constricts blood vessels to restrict blood away from extremities. This redirection causes your body to move blood toward the core, protecting your organs.

During this process, the body increases its levels of oxygen, and proteins that contribute to recovery and healing. When you exit the CryoCabin and return to normal room temperature, the oxygen-protein rich blood moves back through the body. This treatment is one of many ways that Vitality increase your body’s resilience and thereby shape human health.

  • Is Whole Body Cryotherapy just like an Ice Bath?

No! The temperatures experienced during a Whole Body Cryotherapy Session (-190+ F) are perceived as "NOT NORMAL" to the human body, therefore initiating a flight or fight response.

The temperatures experienced during an Ice Bath (39-50 F) are considered "NORMAL" to the human body- with the ability to only drop the skin surface temps  a few degrees.

In short, Ice Baths cannot rapidly drop skin surfaces temps like Whole Body Cryotherapy which is crucial to iniating the theraputic response within the body.   Whole Body Cryotherapy is Whole Body Cryotherapy and an Ice Bath is an Ice Bath!

Not to mention, Ice baths can be painfully long. Try the sub-zero difference today!
